The Parishioner Easter 2022

EDITORIAL

This Easter day brings to our parishes the great joy of the Resurrection of Christ our Saviour; however our joy this year is tempered by the very sad news that our Norbertine Community will be leaving us soon fopastures new. There will be a great many challenges for them as they begin to build up their new parish and restore the hall and monastery which have been run down for a number of years. However I'm sure that they will rise to the challenge, bringing all the care and love that we have experienced here in Chelmsford for the last 14 years, to the people of Our Lady of Sorrows, Peckham in the Diocese of Southwark.

I am sure that you will join with me in wishing Abbot Hugh, Father Stephen, Father Pius, Father Gildas and Brother James well in their new venture and that with so much more room, in a purpose built monastery, they will be able to expand the Order with new vocations and bring great blessings to the congregation of their new parish. Thank you all for the friendship, love and blessings you have brought our two parishes and we wish you all the good luck and happiness in the world.

No doubt our generous parishioners will rally around our new priest and help him to feel welcome, in what will be a very hard act to follow.
