Legion of Mary
Here in Chelmsford our Legion group is called Mary, Mother of God Praesidium. Active members attend a weekly meeting which lasts no longer than one and half hours and takes place on Tuesdays at 10am in Our Lady Immaculate Parish Hall, New London Road, located behind the church.
The meeting consists of spiritual reading, praying the Rosary, our Legion prayers and confidential reporting of work completed in the community. Members work in pairs, doing two hours of work weekly. This could include visits to the housebound, the sick in their homes or in hospital, nursing homes or any work requested by the Parish Priest.
Auxiliary members do not attend meetings or do active work, but say the Rosary and the Legion prayers daily.
The first step to becoming an active member - or to be an Auxiliary - is to arrange to be a guest at one of our weekly meetings.
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy; hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, O most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us, and after this our exile, show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
v. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array?
