OUR LADY IMMACULATE CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL TOURS SEPTEMBER 2026 INTAKE: Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School are holding their school tours for prospective parents on Monday, 20th October at 1.45pm, Thursday, 6th November at 10am and Tuesday, 18th November at 1.45pm. Places are limited so please telephone the school office on 01245 353755 to book the tour.

ST JOHN PAYNE SCHOOL OPEN EVENING INVITATION: Thursday 25th September 5:30pm to 8pm. There will be opportunities to hear from the Headteacher, students keen to accompany visitors on tour, and time to meet the fantastic staff. SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND:
For Evangelii Gaudium Day. The money raised supports the work of the Bishops’ Conference Mission Directorate seeking new ways of understanding the faith and reaching out to others.

TRADITIONAL IRISH SESSION OF MUSIC AND SONG: O'Connors Pub , 7 Hall Street (just off Moulsham Street) CM1 0HG on Sunday, 28th September from 12-2pm. Everyone will receive a warm welcome, and enjoy a couple of hours of good company, toe tapping music and plenty of songs.

SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND: In aid of Brentwood Catholic Children's Society (BCCS): The Chelmsford branch of the Knights of St Columba (KSC) completed their annual charity fundraising walk on Sat 13 September, when a group enjoy a pleasant four mile/two hour circular walk in the countryside near Ingatestone. The Knights take this collection to support the valuable work of BCCS in our local communities, in particular through our church schools. Please give generously, especially as a a proportion of the donations linked to this walk will see BCCS benefit from match funding (i.e. your donation could be doubled !). Thank you.

CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY.
This will be held on Friday 3rd October. There will be a short talk at the masses at OLI and HN on the weekend of 27th/28th September

FR BRIAN MCWILLIAMS FUNERAL.
His Requiem Mass will be on Friday 26th September at 11am in Our Lady Help of Christians in Westcliff on Sea. Fr Brian was a Parish Priest of Holy Name.

KNIGHTS OF ST COLUMBA WALKING QUIZ:
KSC will be holding their annual Walking Quiz on Sunday 28th September. It will be round Coggeshall and is about observing the interesting features of a route through the village. Come alone or with a small team, but let us know at thompsoncjt01@blueyonder.co.uk . We meet at the Stoneham Street car park at 13.45 to start at 14.00. Entry free and there will be small prize.

KNIGHTS OF ST COLUMBA ANNUAL LECTURE:
On Wednesday 1st October at 8pm in St Augustine’s, Ben Hitchen will share his experience of volunteering with the Hosanna House and Children’s Pilgrimage Trust (HCPT) in Lourdes, what makes it unique, and its impact on children with disabilities and their families. SAINT ÓSCAR ROMERO TALK:
Archbishop John Wilson (Archbishop of Southwark), will be giving a talk on Saint Óscar Romero, in the Cathedral Parish Hall on Wednesday 8th October at 7.30pm. All Welcome.

THANK YOU:
Tim, Rebecca, Richard & Liz would like to thank the many parishioners who wrote, emailed, sent cards, had Masses said and came to Vicky Gallagher’s funeral for their words and actions which have been both a comfort to, and joy for, us following her long fight with cancer. Thanks also to the carers, nurses and doctors who did so much for us all, especially towards the end of her life.

BCYS JUBILEE YOUTH MASS:
On Thursday 2nd October, Youth Mass will be celebrated with Bishop Alan at Brentwood Cathedral, following a talk from the Donal Walsh #livelife foundation starting from 6:30pm. All young people around the Diocese are very welcome to join. Get in touch at info@bcys.net for more information.

BCYS Catechist Training & Resources Day 2025,
Saturday 8th November 2025. Open to all confirmation and first holy communion catechists, youth leaders, and children’s liturgy coordinators in the Diocese of Brentwood.

NEW HALL SCHOOL CHAPLAINCY ASSISTANT VACANCY:
New Hall is seeking two people to join our vibrant Chaplaincy Department. A crucial aspect of this role is working with our sister school, the Ecole Christ Ressuscite, and religious community, the Daughters of the Resurrection, in Masaka, Rwanda, who belong to the same Order as our Founding Community, the Canonesses of the Holy Sepulchre. The two successful applicants will spend one term volunteering in this vibrant community and teaching in our sister school in Rwanda.
