SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEK STELLA MARIS: Seafarers play a vital role in all of our lives but they often work in difficult, hazardous conditions. This year Sea Sunday is Sunday 13th July, a day for people to come together to pray for seafarers, and thank them for the vital role they play in all of our lives.

Your gifts and prayers will help seafarers and fishers get the support they need. Thank you advance.

Strawberry Cream Tea with Pimms:
Holy Name will be hosting our Strawberry Cream Tea with Pimms once again on Tuesday 22nd July at the Canon Wilson Hall, Holy Name at 2.30pm. You are all very welcome to come to this enjoyable occasion which is in aid of CAFOD. No entrance fee but donations welcome. All are very welcome!

SVP Chelmsford Fundraising:
Coffee Morning today in Our Lady Immaculate Church to raise funds towards sending children to SVP Brentwood Vinnie Summer Camp on Mersea Island. The camp provides a holiday opportunity for children who might not otherwise experience one. We will be serving coffee, tea and soft drinks, as well as delicious home- baked cakes and sausage rolls after 9.00 am and 12.00 am masses. Thank you for your continued support; your donations are greatly appreciated. All are warmly welcome.

St Augustine's Friendship Chain
. During COVID, St Augustine's set up a Friendship Chain to keep parishioners in touch with each other. We have continued to run it since and it is used to advertise events, draw attention to requests for help and so on, and every so often someone sends round a maintenance message to make sure that it is working well.
The messages are sent with open addresses so that participants can reply to everyone in the Chain. If you wish to be added, e-mail thompsoncjt01@blueyonder.co.uk

BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH GARDEN PARTY:
Garden Party this Sunday 13th July in the Presbytery Garden next to Blessed Sacrament Church on Melbourne Avenue.
All welcome from 1pm onwards, there are games, food, drinks and stalls so bring cash and come and enjoy the sunshine and fun. All are welcome to attend.

FUNDRAISING TOMBOLA:
after Mass at St Augustine this Sunday. Phil Perrier will be running a tombola for the Denis Hurley Centre in South Africa. Each ticket wins a prize.

CLERGY CHANGES FOR SEPTEMBER 2025:
As many of you have now heard from him in person, after three wonderful years, Fr Damien will be moving on to become the Parish Priest of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Wickford. We are deeply grateful for his dedicated service and trademark Irish humour. There will be an opportunity to celebrate with him before he leaves, and further details will follow in upcoming newsletters. Please keep Fr Damien and his new parish in your prayers. We are also delighted that Bishop Alan has appointed Fr Michael Barwick to continue the work here in Chelmsford. He will join us in September from Walthamstow. Please keep Fr Michael and Bishop Alan in your prayers as we prepare to welcome him.

PARISH OFFICE:
The parish office continues to be in its new location in the Presbytery by St Augustine Church. There will be no weekday session in OLI Hall this week.
Knights of Saint Columba Holy Relic Tour: The Knights of Saint Columba are delighted to announce that between Friday 1st August and Sunday 10th August we will be touring the First Class Holy Relics of St Columba, St Margaret of Scotland and St Andrew throughout the Diocese of Brentwood. Visiting Clacton, Kelvedon, Chelmsford (Blessed Sacrament), Eastwood, Basildon, Brentwood Cathedral, Hornchurch, West Ham, Elm Park and Chingford. The Holy Relics will be available during periods of each day for private prayer and veneration.
