NOVEMBER - THE MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS: The month of November gives each of us the opportunity to remember our dearly departed family and friends. We enter their names on the list of the dead and place their names on the Altar to remember them during this month of the Holy Souls. Lists and envelopes are available at the back of the parish churches.

Masses for deceased loved ones will be held in each of our Parish Churches at 7:30PM on the following dates:

The Holy Name - Friday 10th November.

St. Augustine of Canterbury - Friday 17th November.

Our Lady Immaculate - Friday 24th November.

BLESSING OF GRAVES:

A Priest will be available to bless graves on the following dates:-
Sunday 5th November at after the 9am Mass in Our Lady Immaculate and St Augustine of Canterbury churchyards and 10:45 Mass in Holy Name. Additionally Priests will be available the same day in the car park of Chelmsford Crematorium on Writtle road between 3-4pm for graveside blessings.
Sunday 12th November at 2pm in Galleywood and Great Baddow Lawn cemetery.

LINKED PARISHES CHRISTMAS FAYRE: SUNDAY 19th NOVEMBER. Our Christmas Fayre to raise much needed funds for our parish takes place in OLI school hall from 10 am til 2.30 pm. We are urgently in need of donations of good quality items and gifts, toiletries, raffle prizes, jewellery, bottles of alcohol & toys. Boxes to receive these have been left at the back of our churches. With many thanks for your generosity. Any enquiries please phone Anne on (01245) 257463.

CHRISTMAS DRAW: Our Parish Christmas Draw tickets will be handed out after all Masses today and next week. The Draw, along with our Christmas Fayre, is our main fundraiser for the year and provides much needed funds for the Parish. Please take as many ticket books as you can and sell to family and friends. Counterfoils can be put in an envelope with the money and placed in the Sunday collection plate. £250 1st prize, large Christmas hamper, 2nd prize & many more hampers & lovely prizes to be won!

THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS: group meets for the first time in St Philip's Priory on the 9th November between 7:30-9pm. For more information see on our website at https://www.chelmsfordcatholic...

Youth Volunteers required

Exciting plans are taking shape to form a group for the young people of Chelmsford (school years 9-11), where they can deepen faith, make friends and have fun together. The group will gather on Friday evenings between 6:30pm and 8:30pm from November until March (venue tbc). Using Youth Alpha Alpha Youth Series Trailer - YouTube, sessions are designed to create a space for young people to have meaningful conversations about life, faith and purpose. We are seeking members of the parish aged 17+ to volunteer as leaders. Training will be given on Friday 27th October at 7pm. Please pray about responding to this invitation to join an exciting venture for our young people and our whole parish. THIS WEEKEND'S SECOND COLLECTION: World Mission Sunday is celebrated in every Catholic community in the world. It’s a moment of grace to express solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Christ who are living in situations of poverty, violence and oppression. Every penny, £ and prayer you give to Missio helps missionaries everywhere continue their work.


OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP DEVOTIONS: will be held immediately following the 10:30am Mass on Saturday 28th October at Our Lady Immaculate Church. All welcome.


September 2024 intake – Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School tour: Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School are holding their school tours for prospective parents on Tuesday, 31st October at 10am, 1st November at 1.45pm and 8th November at 1.45pm. Places are limited so please telephone the school office on 01245 353755 to book a tour.

MEDJUGORJE TALK WITH FR PASCHAL: Wednesday the 25th of October After his recent trip to Medugorje Fr Paschal will be leading an evening of pilgrimage-inspired prayer, a presentation, adoration, an opportunity for questions and refreshments in St Augustine's Church Springfield, 7pm-9pm.

HOLY NAME SINGING GROUP: We now meet on a Tuesday evening, changed from a Wednesday, for practising hymns, responses etc for The Mass. All are very welcome. We commence at 8.00pm and meet for an hour in The Church. For further information please contact Mike at mike@hiom.co.uk

POPE FRANCIS PRAYER FOR PEACE: The Holy Father has asked that this Friday the 27th October is a day of fasting, Penance and Prayer for peace. He has invited the various Christian confessions, members of other religious and all who hold the cause of peace in the world to participate.

SVP QUIZ IN AID OF SOUTH SUDAN: Thank you to everyone who supported the quiz, especially Chris for setting the questions, Jacqui and Dom for running the quiz and to all the bakers for the cakes. We raised over £385 - thank you so much. The winning team kindly donated the large hamper of chocolate to be shared out amongst some of our SVP families.

HOSPITAL AND SICK VISITS: If you or a member of your family go into hospital, or are sick and housebound, please inform the Parish Office so a priest or member of the Legion of Mary can visit you.
